Are we really making any progress?

May 6, 2010

I’m often asked how we can tell if we’re ever going to achieve our goals or if we’re just wasting time focusing our dreams and wishes.

Interesting question, I’m sure you’ll agree.

It is also an easy one to answer!

You’ll know if your goals and dreams will ever come true for you by taking this one, simple test.

Can you guess what that is?

Every single night just before you lay you head on your pillow to go to bed, ask yourself:

Did I take a single, solitary step toward bringing my dream to life today?”

If the answer is YES!

  • no matter how small,
  • without fail on a day in, day out basis

The universe has no choice but to answer YES! Right back at you and give you what you want.

It is all good to be thinking positive thoughts and visualizing your goals and dreams. Yet, as important as keeping a positive outlook is, nothing beats taking those itty-bitty action steps on a daily basis.

So what are you waiting for?

Start asking yourself tonight and make sure to begin or continue those itty-bitty steps tomorrow and from now on.

Who knows what you can accomplish?

Acceptance…Who would have thought?

January 19, 2010

I am taking something from my journal here that I found again tonight.  It was so powerful, I thought maybe it would be something for others to try and let me know what your thoughts are.

This morning’s meditation revealed a lovely epiphany to me.  I have been breathing the accept (inhale) and release (exhale) in my meditations for some time and this morning I applied it to each of my chakras as I set up resistance roses to collect the energy out in front of me.   It was the most amazing release ever.  My entire body released such heaviness that I laughed hysterically.

  • Accepting in my first chakra that things are exactly the way they are was amazing!  My survival is what it is and I accept it exactly the way it is.
  • My emotions (2nd Chakra) are what they are and I accept them exactly the way they are.
  • My energy distribution (3rd Chakra) is what it is and I accept it exactly the way it is.  How I do things is how I do things and I accept that exactly the way it is.
  • My love for myself and others (4th Chakra) is what it is and I accept it exactly the way it is.
  • My communication (5th Chakra) with myself and others is what it is and I accept it exactly the way it is.
  • My ability to see what I see (6th Chakra) is what it is and I accept that exactly the way it is.  In fact, I accepted that there are things that I didn’t want to see and the fear is gone to look at them.
  • And I acknowledge that my ability to know things (7th Chakra) is what it is and I accept it exactly the way it is.

The resistance is coming at me and I participate in my way.  I released my participation and allowed so much energy to go into those resistance roses that it was amazing!

My heart and 3rd chakras are having some adjustments and I am opening up to the notion that I can’t heal others unless they want to be healed and it isn’t up to me to heal them anyway.

Who am I to think I know what is best?  I release the need to control the outcome and I find myself relaxed in a way that I may not have ever felt in this life.  I am amazed and full of wonder as to what will happen next.

Hello World! Do you have Grace in your life?

July 14, 2008

It is with joy and enthusiasm that I join the world of Blogging.  I have been reading many, many blogs to see just what people do in this space, and find that virtually every topic under the sun is represented.  Me?  I am an intuitive teacher, a consultant to individuals and to businesses, looking to move forward when life or “things” seem to be holding them in place or pushing them backward.

Lately, many people are coming to me to find out what is keeping them from economic success.  Some have been working at their job for a long time, and they are not happy with the job or the pay.  Some are looking for a job doing what they are passionate about.  Some just want any job that will pay the bills.  Then there are the companies that are hurting due to this sluggish economy.  They are laying people off, downsizing, cutting expenses on perks for their employees and struggling to stay afloat in this quagmire of our society.

Grace and ease aren’t part of many vocabularies these days.  How is someone supposed to find grace when everything and everyone seems to be hanging by a thread?

Where is the grace in your life? In your business?  Do you find yourself constantly being held to task or in reaction to everything that is going on around you?  In the world at large, there is always something going on, and we each have to manage what we must do, what we would like to do and what we could do.

We must decide what to do amidst the constant clamoring noise and demands placed upon us by what I affectionately call “Your Usual Suspects”.  Multi-tasking isn’t all it was once cracked up to be.   We lose the ability to concentrate for any length of time on a single task with all the demands that want us to do too many things all at the same time.

That is where sitting down and making separations from everything and everyone regularly can help sort things out.  Giving yourself this time can help you to see what is you and what is not.

There are many methods of getting in touch with yourself and where you are in the present moment.  For starters, just sitting in a comfortable chair; feet flat on the floor, eyes closed, noticing your breath and saying hello to your body is a good way to begin.  Allow yourself to sit quietly undisturbed for as long as you feel comfortable.  Some days will be easier than others.  You will become more familiar with what truly is you and “Your Usual Suspects”.  You may even find grace in your life.
